Land owned and run by Balderton Parish Council

Off London Road at the end of Coronation Street there is a 17-acre playing field.

The field is a continuation of the Grove Leisure Centre complex. A 6ft security fence surrounds the council playing field on three sides.

The land was sold to the council by the Quibell family in 1932. The Quibells were a well-known local family who, at the time, owned Highfields house and much of the land surrounding it.

The playing field has three full size football pitches and three pitches for the under 10s, a fenced hard-surface kickabout area / basketball court.

There is a cricket pitch and three practice nets, rented annually by Balderton Cricket Club.

A first-class bowls court is rented by Balderton Bowls Club.

The under 11s play area was recently upgraded with a fence and anti-dog grid added to prevent fouling.

The parish council is proud of the fact that the playing field is considered one of the best kept in Nottinghamshire.
