0062 Playing Field Attendant
The need to increase staff presence on the playing field during weekend activity
was discussed and considered. Sporting activity, particularly chargeable
football coaching has increased substantially and concerns were expressed that
the Council is not aware of all the organised activity that takes place on the
field. Discussion was given to future arrangements when the new hall is complete
– a more structured approach is necessary. The Council must be aware of all
planned activity and action should be taken to ensure only authorised sessions
are taking place. Mr Long, a playing field attendant has indicated that he is
happy to increase his hours to oversee weekend activity.
It was, RECOMMENDED that he be asked to be
present at the field during weekends to oversee sporting activity and to
initially assess and report back on all activity taking place there. He will
then be able to ensure there is no unauthorised organised activity taking place
whilst overseeing the planned activities. The need for caretaking duties for the
new hall will be reviewed as usage is established.
0063 Assistant Clerk
The post of Assistant to the Clerk was reviewed. The post was last discussed in
June 2005 when it was agreed the position would be considered in the future for
promotion to Deputy Clerk.
Members all expressed their appreciation to Mrs Lalyk the post holder, for her work and commitment.
It was, RECOMMENDED that the post holder be
promoted to Deputy Clerk and be paid at the SLCC/NALC recommended rate.
Enquiries will also be made regarding suitable local training courses.
The meeting closed at approximately 10.50 am.
