Balderton Parish Council
Minutes of the Pavilion sub committee meeting held on Wednesday February 7th 2006 at 12 noon in the Council Hall.
PRESENT: Councillors White (Chairman), Colman, and Mortimore with Councillors Gibson and Sheppard, Mr J. Lecutier and the Clerk.
APOLOGIES: were received from Councillors Ms Atkinson and Jarvis.
0008 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST :None were made.
0009 Pavilion Re-build
Members reviewed and considered at some length the two sets of plans and proposals received from the two remaining contractors. The sub committee considered that they have examined all issues as directed by the Council relating to the project requirements. On the grounds of Best Value it was,
RECOMMENDED that the chosen contractor be Beckside Buildings and Installations Ltd of Lincoln.
The Council Chairman, Cllr Colman agreed to call an extraordinary meeting of the Council on Wednesday February 15th 2006 at 6.00pm (immediately before the Amenities Committee meeting) in order that the recommendation be referred to Council for approval.
0010 Funding
The Chairman introduced Mr Lecutier who has offered to approach local and some national businesses on behalf of the Council to see if any contributory funding can be obtained for the project. Discussion took place upon the preferred methods of approaching potential funders. The Chairman informed members that the Clerk has already made an initial approach to British Gypsum to enquire if any financial assistance can be obtained from the company. The need to promote the project within the whole village was endorsed, particularly the larger hall and meeting room facilities. It was,
AGREED that Mr Lecutier be co-opted onto the sub committee.
Members thanked him for his assistance in helping to raise funds for the new building.
