Minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held in the Balderton Village Centre on Thursday February 7th 2008 at 10.00am

PRESENT Councillors Mrs Hurst, Mrs Jarvis and Mrs Newstead with one parishioner and the Clerk

APOLOGIES were received from Councillors Colman, Gibson, Mortimore and Radley.

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST None were made.

0056 Planning Applications
The following planning applications were considered and approved subject to any comments detailed below:
1464 Replace 3 signs, erect one brand wall and ATM surround Sainsburys London Road
1798 Demolish garage & erect new double garage 2A Sibcy Lane
1837 Two storey extension to rear of both properties 37 & 39 Hawton Lane
0033 Extension & conservatory to side/rear 27 Acacia Road
0064 Boundary wall to frontage of property 74 Main Street
0093 Change of use to residential Former Isolation Hosp
0112 Convert house to 5 apartments Maple House Barnby Rd
0119 Alterations to car park to allow new access Balderton Hall F/Wood

The meeting was closed to hear a parishioner’s concerns regarding planning application no. 0065. He was thanked for his information and the meeting re-opened.

The following applications were considered and objected to with the following comments:
0065 Single storey extension to rear & first floor to side 1 Haddon Drive
Members considered that the development would have a detrimental effect upon neighbouring properties, is over intensive to the original property and out of keeping with the area. A request will be made that the application be referred to the full planning committee for full consideration.
0068 First floor to rear plus single storey & garage 2 Milton Street
Members considered that this would have a detrimental effect upon a neighbouring property.

0057 Planning Decisions
The following planning applications have received conditional approval from the District Council and were noted:
1500 Two storey house with integral garage 2 Howards Gardens
1743 Extend wall to enclose land 2 Pine Close
1846 Extension for bedroom and granny annexe 18 Derwent Court
The following application has been refused by the District Council and was noted:
1732 Convert house to 7 apartments Maple House Barnby Rd

0058 Correspondence/Information
The following items of information and correspondence have been received and were noted:
a) Notice that the application for the Flowserve development is scheduled to be discussed by the District Council on Tuesday February 12th 2008. Cllrs Mrs Hurst and Mrs Jarvis undertook to attend the meeting.
b) Notice that an appeal has been lodged against a planning refusal for a 1.8m high boundary fence at 80 Rowan Way.
c) A consultation paper from the County Council - Draft Guidance on the Validation of County Planning Applications – copies were circulated for members’ perusal.

The meeting closed at approximately 10.50am.
