Minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held in the Council Hall on Tuesday August 16th  2005 at 10.00am

PRESENT: Councillors Colman (Chairman), Gibson and Sheppard, and the Clerk

APOLOGIES: were received from Cllrs Ms Atkinson, Brooks, Mrs Newstead and Spencer. 

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: None were made.

0003 Planning Applications
The following planning applications were considered and approved subject to any comments detailed below:        

1655 Erect 123 dwellings                                                   Fernwood
1665 Reposition garage to plot 5                                         Vicarage Close

1738 Erect barn                                                                  Paddock 3 Coddington Rd
1740 Extensions for disabled use, re-site garage                   2 Alder Close

The following planning applications were considered and objected to with comments detailed below:

1652 Erect units for B1, B2 and B8 use                                    Cressey Holme Farm, Bullpit Rd

Members considered that this is an unsuitable location for further numbers of business units.  The surrounding roads in the area are unsuitable for heavy lorries and extra heavy traffic will exacerbate the existing problems experienced in the Bullpit Road/ Barnby Road/  Coddington Road/ Main Street area.     

A Planning Committee meeting had been held on August 11th 2005.  Though there was not a quorum, it was necessary for the two present members to review and subsequently approve the following planning applications owing to reply time restrictions required by the District Council:

0004 Planning Decisions
The following planning applications have received conditional approval and were noted:

0005 District Council Policies - Local Development Framework
Members noted receipt of the following District Council draft consultation documents which will all contribute to the Local Development Framework:

a)      Draft Statement of Community Involvement 
b)      Conversion of Traditional Rural Buildings
c)      Extension of Dwellings 

0006 Correspondence

a) The Clerk advised that a letter has been sent to the District Council Planning Enforcement Officer asking that enquiries be made to the site known as  ‘Paddock no 3’ off Coddington Road.  Concerns have been expressed regarding the amount of development at the site, and there are questions regarding the water supply to the site. 

b) Notice of Pre-Application consultation from a telecommunications company for a base  station at Balderton.  Several possible sites are identified, but the preferred one is at the Bowbridge Panel Company on Bowbridge Road, Newark.
