Minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held in
the Balderton Village Centre on Thursday August 16th 2007 at 10.00am
PRESENT Councillors Sheppard (Chairman), Gibson, Mrs Hurst, Mrs Jarvis and
Radley with the Clerk
APOLOGIES were received from Councillors Colman, Mortimore and Mrs Newstead.
DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST Cllr Gibson declared a personal interest to application
no. 1122 for 2a Sibcy Lane.
0045 Planning Applications
The following planning applications were considered and approved subject to any
comments detailed below:
1071 Extension for bedroom and granny flat 18 Derwent Court
1072 First floor extension 21 Spring Lane
1081 Business Development Fernwood Business Park
1091 Replace car port with garage 1 Marlowe Drive
1092 Install solar collector on front roof 7 Goldstraw Lane
1093 Conservatory 8 Lacey Green
1097 Replace box bay with bow window 8 Lacey Green
1122 Erect detached house (amended design) 2a Sibcy Lane
1126 Demolish property & construct 2 bungalows 18 Spring Lane
Adequate off road parking should be provided for these two properties.
1152 Single storey extension & replace conservatory 1 Marquis Avenue
Adequate drainage provision should be made to prevent exacerbating known
problems with the drainage system in this area.
The following application was considered and objected to with the following
comments:
1155 Fascia sign 33 Main Street
Members considered that the design of the illuminated sign is far too bright and
intrusive, and is out of keeping with the surrounding area.
0046 Planning Decisions
The following planning applications have received conditional approval from the
District Council and were noted:

0852 Replace flat garage roof with pitched roof 9c Bullpit Road
0914 Demolish garage, erect side extension 113 Main Street
The following applications have been refused by the District Council and were
noted:

0047 Correspondence
The following has been received and was noted:
1. A copy of a formal complaint letter sent to the District Council about the
authority’s handling of an application for a large extension to a property at
‘Bryon’ London Rd.
2. Notice of a training session about planning issues to be held at Norwell
Village Hall on Thursday October 18th 2007. Cllrs Mrs Hurst, Mrs Jarvis and
Radley undertook to attend.
