Wildlife Crime
Following reports of alleged wildlife crime at Balderton lake, we’d like to remind everyone what to do if you witness any suspicious or illegal activity involving wildlife.
If you see wildlife crime taking place:
- If a crime is happening now or there is an immediate risk to people or wildlife, call 999.
- If it is not an emergency, report it to the police on 101 or online via Nottinghamshire Police website
If it is safe to do so, try to note:
- The date and time
- The exact location
- A description of what happened
- Descriptions of the people involved
- Vehicle registration numbers and descriptions, if applicable
- Photos or videos only if it is safe to take them - never put yourself at risk
Please do not confront anyone you believe may be committing an offence.
Every report helps protect the wildlife we all enjoy and can provide valuable information for investigating offences.
Thank you for helping to keep our local lake a safe place for wildlife and the community.
