The Secretary of State has proposed to make an order for stopping up of a highway at the rear of Nightingale Close.
If this Order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only to enable development as permitted by Newark and Sherwood District Council. Details can be found on the website https://publicaccess.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/online-applications/ under the reference 22/00695/FUL.
Copies of the draft order and relevant plan will be available for inspection from 20th February 2025, during our opening hours of Monday – Friday 10:00 till Noon at Balderton Parish Council, Balderton Village Centre, Coronation Street, Balderton, Newark NG24 3BS. These may be obtained free of charge up until 20th March 2025.


Anyone wishing to object to the proposed order can state their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR quoting the reference NATTRAN/EM.S247/5896 by midnight of 20th March 2025.
